About Us

Founded in 1991, Eversole Associates is a science and technology consulting firm providing strategic guidance, contract research, initiative management and coordination, as well as scientific expertise to agricultural and biotechnology companies, non-profit organizations, universities, and governmental agencies. We specialize in working at the triple helix of innovation, i.e., the interface of science, government, and industry, to produce solutions for today’s agricultural challenges and prepare for those of tomorrow. We believe that the future success of the agricultural and food industries rests squarely on the opportunities created from a strong scientific foundation and science-based regulatory policies.

Eversole Associates has been at the forefront of efforts to develop genome sequence enabled foundations for economically important agricultural species for more than 20 years. Beginning in the mid-1990s, Kellye Eversole, President and Founder of Eversole Associates (EA), led the highly successful campaign to establish the US plant genome program and coordinated activities targeted towards obtaining a reference sequence of the maize genome. Eversole then led the efforts that resulted in the reference sequences for the cow, pig, chicken, dog, and cat genomes, and a draft sequence of the sheep genome. Eversole Associates also managed the international bovine SNP project.

Currently, EA is leading the International Wheat genome Sequencing Consortium, an international effort to sequence the genome of the most widely grown crop in the world – bread wheat. Since 2016, EA has also been leading the International Alliance for Phytobiomes Research, a public-private collaborative consortium focused on building a phytobiome-based foundation for accelerating the sustainable production of food, feed, and fiber.

In addition to genomics activities, EA works with an international scientific society focused on plant associated microbes on a wide range of issues including food safety related to human pathogens on plants, biosecurity, funding to agricultural science and technology biotechnology, culture collections, genomics, and “big data”.

In biotechnology, EA specializes in regulatory aspects and focuses on developing mechanisms that assist public sector, small to medium sized, and specialty (or niche market) crop developers successfully navigate the complex regulatory system. At Eversole Associates, our core values are built around a complete commitment to achieving objectives and developing long-term relationships with service and impact. Through strategic planning, we customize solutions to fit the needs of each project. Our activities may range from coordination of national or international scientific projects, contract research, road mapping, strategic planning, and educational or advocacy activities before governmental entities. While these individual services are offered by many firms, we are unique internationally, in the breadth and scope of our capabilities and contacts in agricultural science and technology.
