About Us | Meet the Team | Ann Lichens-Park

Ann Lichens-Park works with the Phytobiomes Alliance. She retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after serving for thirty years. While working for USDA, she administered numerous competitive grant programs focused on a wide variety of topics including microbial genomics, plant-microbe interactions, and agricultural microbiomes. She served as a liaison between USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture and universities within the Land-grant system. She represented USDA on interagency committees under the National Science and Technology Council and has helped plan international workshops and video conferences aimed at communicating advances in agricultural sciences.

Ann has co-edited books focused on the genomics of plant-associated bacteria, fungi, and oomycetes. She is a Fellow of the American Phytopathological Society. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Harvard University.
